Obstetrics & Gynecology Care Excellence Awards™

Each year, Healthgrades analyzes the quality of care of patients during and after childbirth, and for the most common gynecologic procedures at U.S. hospitals. Patients who deliver or have gynecologic procedures at recognized hospitals have a lower risk of experiencing a complication during their hospital stay.

How We Measure Hospital Quality

Healthgrades evaluates hospital quality for conditions and procedures based solely on clinical outcomes to help consumers understand, compare and evaluate hospital performance. We measure hospital performance for the most common in-hospital procedures and conditions and adjust for each patient’s risk factors, such as age, gender and medical condition. Our analysis is based on more than 45 million Medicare medical claims records and other select data for the most recent three-year time period available from nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide.
